About Colgin Cellars

For nearly three decades, Colgin Cellars has been dedicated to enriching and sustaining the hallowed history of Napa Valley wine production. Their goal has been to craft elegant and profound wines that inspire memories. Since 1992, Colgin Cellars navigates the exciting future of Napa Valley wine with the same focus, passion, and reverence that guided their first thirty years.

While taking a decorative arts course in London, Ann Colgin fell in love with wine after taking a sip of a 1961 Chateau Latour. Her degree in art history led to a job as a Christie’s auctioneer where her burgeoning interest in wine was nurtured and blossomed into a desire to establish her own winery. Colgin Cellars was created in 1992 when she secured a parcel of grapes from Herb Lamb vineyard on the lower slopes of Howell Mountain. By 1998, Colgin owned three vineyards which produced small yields, resulting in exquisite red wines: Tychson Hill, Cariad, and IX Estate, home to the winery and located high on Pritchard Hill. The wines have been prized by collectors worldwide for there focus on Perfume, Freshness and Minerality. Robert Parker says that the “IX Estate” is as close to a viticultural nirvana as he has ever seen!
