The 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon Kronos is bigger, richer and deeper than the straight bottling. Plums, black currants, cassis, tar and pencil shavings all come to life in this utterly vivid, large-scaled Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2009 Kronos is endowed with serious intensity, yet retains a pretty classic sense of structure. Violets, roses and flowers of all sorts wrap around the poised, beautifully articulated finish. This is a dazzling showing from Cathy Corison. Anticipated maturity: 2019-2029.
“These aren’t the biggest or most obvious wines being made in the valley, but readers who are willing to spend some time getting to know these refined Cabernets will be amply rewarded.” –Antonio Galloni, Vinous
Winegrower Cathy Corison produces artisanal Cabernet Sauvignon under her Corison label that speaks true to terroir, sourcing great benchland vineyards between the Rutherford and St. Helena appellations in Napa Valley. The winery, located in its timeless Victorian-style barn, is situated in the center of Cathy’s elusive Kronos Vineyard. Corison wines are unique in the fact that they are always 100% varietal. Additionally, their flagship Cabernet Sauvignon wines are held in high regard because they are not stereotypical rich, Napa Valley alcohol bombs, but instead have finesse and elegance that can carry them through years of aging. Cathy has been producing wine in the Napa Valley for nearly 30 years and has no intention of stopping any time soon!
