Tasting Notes

Rust, rock and stone. Blueberry and blackberry. Very aromatic. Full to medium body, tight and linear. Racy and so fine. Tangy acidity. Needs two to three years to soften. But a fascinating wine now to taste.

A wine of substance and finesse, full of supple earth, gravel-laced berry and plum flavors. A charmer. Drink now through 2022.

The Winery

Kosta Browne

The men of Kosta Browne take nothing for granted, and when the opportune moment came to cease their dreams of crafting the most superior Pinot Noir in California, they went for it. Using their saved money made from tips at their restaurant jobs, Michael Browne and Dan Kosta purchased a half ton of Pinot Noir, a used barrel and a hand-crank stemmer-crusher and Kosta Browne was born. Starting from the bottom, they have developed relationships with growers to source ten single vineyard and three appellation wines. These flavor forward, intense, yet balanced wines have earned the praises of aficionados and critics alike. There is a 5 year wait list just to have access to the Kosta Browne mailing list; therefore you should be especially thrilled to have access to this California treasure.
