A notably floral suffused nose displays notes of green tea, various dark berries, earth and a hint of the sauvage. There is good freshness and verve to the elegant and refined medium weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the explosively long and impeccably well-balanced finish. This isn't quite as structured as some vintages of this storied wine yet note that I said "isn't quite" because this will still need ample time to realize its full and considerable potential.

The 2012 Nuits Saint Georges 1er Cru Les Saint Georges displayed a slight reduction on the nose that made the aromatics a little more challenging to discern. But it is all there on the palate: razor-like precision, perfectly judged acidity and a beguiling sense of symmetry and focus. You can feel that minerality lingering long in the mouth, a wine that should evolve with class in tandem with Chevillon’s own example. Range:88-90
