A classic Cab blended with smaller handfuls of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec, this 2011 is balanced and supple in plum, cassis and minty chocolate. The oak is accented in pretty ways by clove, sage and cardamom spice. Structured and soft, the finish is lengthy and the wine perfectly capable of waiting until 2019–2021 in a cellar.
Since founding his namesake winery in 2002, Cliff Lede has taken full advantage of his sixty acre estate in the Stags Leap District of the Napa Valley, which was replanted with the assistance of famed viticulturist David Abreu. The estate is composed of two vineyards- the Poetry vineyard and the Twin Peaks vineyard, and each are divided into blocks named after some of Lede’s favorite rock songs and albums which led to the nickname the ‘Rock Blocks.’
By the time the winery was completed in 2005, Lede perfected his winemaking techniques for his famed Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc, and other Bordeaux Blends. The state-of-the-art winery combines timeless methods combined with innovative technology to make famous wines like his 2013 Poetry Cabernet Sauvignon which received 100 points from Robert Parker, and we are thrilled to offer you a variety of vintages from this illustrious producer.
