Along the same lines, with possibly more heft and mid-palate richness, the 2008 Cote Bonneville is a knockout Washington State blend that shows a level of polish and purity that’s not often found in the state. Comprised of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot and aged in primarily new French oak, it delivers gorgeous creme de cassis, lead pencil shavings and spice box qualities as well as a medium to full-bodied, building richness that comes through on the mid-palate and finish. Classic Cabernet, with both richness and elegance, it can be consumed any time over the coming two decades or more. Drink now-2030+.

Crisp, focused and broad enough to support a rich array of black currant, plum and licorice flavors, weaving in an undertone of smoky roasted red pepper as the open-textured finish lingers against polished tannins. Persists impressively. Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Drink now through 2020.
