For more than forty years, Sean Thackrey created an array of wines in the quiet hamlet of Bolinas, California, tucked away on the coast of western Marin County. Self-enlightened in the art of creating wine, Sean was a man comfortable with contradictions. While revering the science behind winemaking, he nevertheless found his own pathway and methods, often relying on techniques he found among his astonishing collection of ancient texts about wine and the practice of creating it, all while eschewing a modern, formulaic approach. A true iconoclast.  

Our owner, Dave Parker, personally reviewed this remarkable, final parcel of Thackrey’s stock, in the original temperature-controlled storage location where the wine has rested since production. I am pleased to add that we have both sampled the wines, and we found them to be in pristine condition. Better provenance is virtually impossible.
