About Forget-Chemin
Thierry Forget’s family history as growers in Champagne dates back to 1888 when the fruit from their estate was sold to larger houses, and some still are. The family’s caves were excavated by his grandfather, Paul, during the tumultuous 1940s. Flash forward to the 60s—when Edmond Forget and Denise Chemin fell in love, married, and started bottling as Forget-Chemin. Today Thierry and his family continue the tradition of growing Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir—with the rare distinction of growing 70% Pinot Meunier. Most of the fruit is grown outside their home in Ludes—a premier cru village in the Montagne de Reims. They also own small parcels in the grand crus of Mailly and Verzenay, amongst others, for a total of 14 hectares.
