The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is deep, rich, with plenty of baby fat, supple tannins and is much more of a near-term prospect for drinking, but that still means it is going to last and evolve for 15-20 or more years. These are impressive wines, and if you are wondering what Fait-Main means, it is French for handmade.

Fait Main

Meaning “Hand-Made” in French, these wines are the personal project of Benoit Touquette. The wines come from two vineyards, Sleeping Lady, which lies just to the south of Yountville, and the Beckstoffer owned Las Piedras Vineyard in St. Helena. Of all the wines I tasted from Benoit, these are some of the finest.
